40.WAEC examiners year in, year out point out that understanding basic concepts and principles is crucial for unlocking the door and windows of maths.
41.The concepts and principles constitute the vocabulary of the subject. In English language, if we do not understand certain words we look for their meaning in dictionaries. This is applicable to maths too. At every stage from JSS 1 to SS 3, maths text books contain specific words which belong to the subject. Sometimes they are difficult to understand or define.
